Ram Mudiyam, MD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is fellowship trained in spine surgery and also performs total joint replacement. He is affiliated with Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, Irvine Regional Hospital, Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, and Pacific Hospital of Long Beach. Dr. Mudiyam has been in private practice in Orange County since 1984.

Since 1993, Dr. Mudiyam has been performing Outpatient Microdiskectomies for herniated disks with no overnight stay. He is one of the few surgeons in Orange County that performs Kyphoplasty, a new minimally invasive surgical treatment for vertebral compression fractures. (please see Favorite Links). Dr. Mudiyam is an experienced member of the Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Program at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital utilized mostly by our Jehovah’s Witness patients. Shawna M. Johnson, P.A.-C., M.P.A.P. , is a board certified physician assistant who assists Dr. Mudiyam in his Orthopaedic practice, including patient follow-ups, new patient visits, minor procedures, injections and assisting in surgery. She is also a certified group exercise instructor, specializing in Mat Pilates. Like Dr. Mudiyam, she is on staff at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, as well as Pacific Hospital of Long Beach.
